hello. This is a blogger hope story. Today, I prepared a column that summarizes the Google Play Store refund methods. In the Google Play Store, there are apps that can be downloaded after paying a fee and in-app billing that induces payment within the app, although you can download apps for free. As with all payments, if the consumer is dissatisfied after making the payment or receives a payment other than what was stated, in accordance with consumer rights, they may request a refund.
In particular, the Google Play Store refund has a set policy and has the advantage of being able to proceed with a 100% refund if it falls under any of the refund reasons. That’s why refund agencies are booming, and in the case of apps like popular games, you’ll see a lot of ads saying they charge a certain fee and issue a 100% refund. However, in my opinion, if it conforms to Google’s policy, refunds are supported regardless of whether an individual or a company applies, and the application process is not complicated, so I would recommend that you try it yourself. In this article, we have summarized the Google Play refund policy, check for refunds, and how to respond when refunds are rejected, so I hope it will be helpful.
Learn about Google Play Store’s 48-Hour Refund Policy
Google has a 48-hour refund policy, and depending on whether this period has passed or not, the possibility of a refund will vary greatly. 구글 플레이스토어 환불
1. Refund within 48 hours: Most of the refunds are most likely to be accepted at the time of application, and both paid app purchases and in-app payments are possible. In this case, when a paid app is deleted immediately after purchase and it is deleted from the app installation list, there are cases where it is automatically refunded even if you do not apply. Please note that if you download the same paid app again, you will not be refunded under any circumstances. 좋은뉴스
In the case of in-app payment, the possibility of a refund is determined depending on the company that provides the app. This is because some large game companies have signed a refund agreement with Google, and in some cases, Google refund is not possible. However, since most apps accept the Google Play refund policy as it is, refunds can be processed without any difficulties when applying.
2. Refunds after 48 hours: If you read the Google Refund Principles, you are instructed to contact the developer for refunds after 48 hours. However, if you follow the refund application process after 48 hours, it is often accepted normally, and it is not too late to contact the developer after that.
3. Google Play refund processing time: Check and credit cards are processed within 3-5 business days, and mobile carrier payments are processed within 30 business days. When paying with Google Pay, you can estimate the deposit date according to your payment method as it takes 1 business day, online banking 1-10 days, PayPal 3-5 days, Payco 3-5 days, and Kakao Pay 3-5 business days.
How to apply for a refund on Google Play
1. Access the Google Play Store My Account page. (play.google.com/store/account)
2. Go to My Order History menu.
3. Find the Google Play payment you want to cancel.
4. Click Report a Problem on the right.
5. Press Select option.
6. Select and select the reason for my refund from the view.
In most cases, refunds are not possible in the case of a simple change of mind, such as choosing to purchase by mistake or no longer want the purchased product. Unsure of how your purchase or billing was made, purchased but not received, product has binding or does not work as advertised, a 100% refund is possible if there is actually a problem with the payment and the item you received. But getting a refund is virtually impossible because there are still issues that need to be proven hacking or merchandise issues. So, purchases made by a friend or family member without my consent are most likely to be refunded out of the options.
In the meantime, my cousin paid for the wrong game while playing with my smartphone, so I’m going to request a refund.
7. In the problem description, write the current situation according to the reason for the selected option and click Submit.
8. Google Play refund request has been completed. You will receive an email with the results of your refund request within 48 hours.
Check the Google Play Refund Process Email
As soon as I applied for a refund, I went into the email and saw the results right away. Although it takes less than 48 hours, most of the results are announced at the same time as the application, so please enter the Google email you paid for.
There are two cases where I applied for a refund, some were refunded, and some were rejected because they did not conform to the policy.
1) Google Play refund approved.
Refund has been processed to the payment method used for purchase. After a refund, you may lose access to your purchases. If the payment method has been charged, we will issue a refund. The amount of time it takes for your refund to be reflected depends on your payment method. You can also check your payment method and refund status in your Google payments profile. Orders that have not yet been charged as a payment method will not be charged in the future.
2) Google Play refund request information (refusal of refund)
We’ve received a refund request, but we can’t refund your purchase because your request doesn’t comply with our policies. We apologize for any inconvenience.
I got these contradictory results with other apps I paid for at the same time. Refund requests are no longer a problem, but refunds that are rejected due to non-conformance with the policy must now be processed through the developer inquiry stage. If the above Google Play refund request is rejected, the only remaining option is to contact the developer directly.
How to contact the developer in case of Google Play Refund Refusal
1. Search for the app you paid for in the Google Play Store.
2. Scroll down to see developer contact information.
3. Write the reason for refund to my email and send it to me.
We recommend that you include the reason why you are using the app, which app you used and why you are trying to get a refund, and your payment information. If you are not a Korean developer, we recommend that you use a translator and send in the language of the developer’s country.
I am also currently in the process of making an email inquiry about the case of receiving a refund from Google Play, but I do not know the rules or policies for refunds on the app, so I do not know if it will be accepted or when I will receive a response. However, in order to receive a reasonable refund for the part where the problem has occurred, we recommend that you send it with the thought that it is only worth it if you do not give up. thank you
