After obtaining a social worker license, regular social worker refresher training is required. Continuing education refers to educating students about changes in their job duties or areas that may have been forgotten after acquiring a social worker. You can apply for refresher training for social workers at the Korean Social Workers Association’s refresher training center.

The phone number for the Social Worker’s Continuing Education Center is 02-786-0846. All social workers working as social workers are required to receive a refresher education. If you do not listen, your social worker license may be suspended. Fortunately, there is no need to go to the Seoul Social Workers Association’s refresher training center because social worker refresher training centers exist in each region.

As of 2020, the 1st and 2nd refresher training took place from April to July.
The 3rd refresher training was held between August and October, and the fourth refresher training was held between November and December.
You must apply for the maintenance training at least two months in advance of the social worker maintenance training period.
The application period for social worker refresher training was available from April 3 for the 1st and 2nd continuing education, the 3rd continuing education from July 1 and the 4th continuing education from September 21st.
Also, the application period varies by region from 1 to 7 days, so you should check the application period for your region separately. The date of application for refresher training can be checked on the notice on the website of the Korean Association of Social Workers’ Supplementary Education Center.
In 2020, it was replaced with cyber refresher training at the same time as group training.
It is expected to continue into 2021.
The social worker refresher training requires a total of 8 hours to be completed. The cost of remuneration for social worker training differs slightly depending on whether it is group training or cyber training. Cyber training is 40,000 won, and group training is 56,000 won. Since the training is conducted for 8 hours, the maintenance training is more expensive because rice is included.
The application for cyber refresher training is divided into recording, group, and real-time when applying for refresher training on the website of the Social Worker’s Continuing Education Center. You can select either recording or real-time training from among them.
The real-time training is conducted in real time like video conferencing, and the recorded training can be listened to in an animation format. Instead, if you are taking the recorded cyber training, you must take it within 24 hours from the date of application.
If you have not completed the course last year and need to take a total of 16 hours, you can also substitute all 16 hours of cyber education in this case. As it is an emergency situation, it is possible to replace all of them with cyber education.
One disadvantage is that cyber training also has a number limit. Due to traffic problems, recording maintenance training is limited to 100 people and real-time maintenance training is 80 people. Also, it is impossible to watch it on mobile, so you must listen to it on a PC. However, since the real-time maintenance training uses the Zoom program, you can download the Zoom app and watch it on your mobile.
And in the case of real-time cyber education, it is recommended that you receive maintenance training with recorded video because it has the disadvantage that you have to use the webcam or mobile phone video recording function to transmit it yourself.
When you have completed all training, you will receive a training certificate. You can issue a certificate of completion by completing the login > My Page > Satisfaction Assessment Participation.
There are disadvantages if you do not complete the social worker refresher education, so we recommend that you complete the refresher education as soon as possible.
